Standing Strong in Unity: Call for Solidarity towards Syrian and Turkish Women Affected by the Recent Earthquake

Brussels 22/02/2023

Dear network,

We are all aware of the devastating earthquake that recently struck the borders of Syria and Turkey. The tremors have caused immense damage to the livelihood of people and left them in a state of turmoil. We express our deepest condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones and extend our full solidarity with the affected families.

We call on governments, organizations, and individuals around the world to come together in support of those impacted by the earthquake, and to commit to providing the resources and assistance necessary to help communities recover and rebuild. Let us stand together in solidarity with the women of Syria and Turkey, and work towards a brighter, more equitable future for all.

In times of crisis like this, we believe that it is our responsibility to stand together and offer all possible support to those who have been hit the hardest. We are particularly concerned about the welfare of women and girls who have been disproportionately affected by the earthquake. The disaster has not only destroyed their homes, but also their access to basic necessities.

As members of the global community, we must come together to support the women of Syria and Turkey who are struggling to rebuild their lives after the disaster. We urge everyone to show their solidarity by donating whatever they can to humanitarian organizations that are working tirelessly to provide relief to the affected families.

We must ensure that women and girls are not left behind in the recovery efforts and that their voices are heard. It is our responsibility to create a safe and sustainable environment where they can rebuild their lives with dignity.

Let us come together to support our sisters in Syria and Turkey, and demonstrate our commitment to a world where no one is left behind in times of crisis.

RWAN organisation stand in solidarity with the Syrian and Turkish women who have been impacted by the recent earthquake.

As we come together to support those in need, it is important to recognize the unique challenges faced by women in crisis situations. Women often bear the brunt of the burden in these situations, with increased risks of violence, displacement, and economic insecurity. It is essential that we work to ensure the safety and well-being of all affected women, and prioritize their needs in relief efforts.
